It looks like Nashville has figured out how to shut the Jets down. They have done it twice at home where the Jets are supposed to almost be guaranteed a win because of our great crowds and hockey environment. Nashville put that to rest.
One more game is all it will take to be a step closer to the Stanely Cup. Possibly the Preds have the best odds of winning the next game. It’s in their arena and they made the Jets feel pretty small 2 times. The odds that the Winnipeg Jets could take the game, about 40%. They are certainly not out of it and they have beaten them quite easily when they did win, but so did Nashville.
It was good to see the great 8 Ovechkin win their game and advance to the next level. His first time in 20 years. He was so happy that he was almost crying. You would think he had won the Stanley Cup. Ovie deserves a Stanley Cup he’s been great for a long time and never got past the first round in the playoffs. Pittsburg won’t win it this year. That shows that Winnipeg being number 2 can often beat a team like Nashville. They appear to have an equal amount of strength as Nashville, which is indicated in the standings.
They all wave the white flags now. That actually started in Winnipeg at a Jets game in the 70s at which time there was a WHL (World Hockey Association). They were making a run for the (Avco Cup). Somewhere in that series, the white towels came out.
Nashville had thousands of people watching outside. The Jets did too of course. They might have done it first. Has there ever been such a crowd uptown for any reason? No, probably not. People were into it everywhere. Lots were wearing Jets jerseys, hat’s, mitts, you name it. Probably the best comparison would be the Bomber games when they’re winning especially. It has the potential to be a good day for hardcore Jets fans. Or not!
